What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser and sends back to the server with every request. There are also similar browser storage methods that are not cookies, such as sessionStorage, which are never sent to a server.
What this site uses
For usage measurement we use sessionStorage — not a cookie. It holds a random, meaningless identifier whose only job is to tell 'one person viewing three pages' apart from 'three people'. It is deleted automatically when you close the tab and cannot identify you or recognise you on a later visit. We also store a flag in localStorage recording that you acknowledged the privacy notice, so it isn't shown to you again, along with your accessibility preferences if you changed them. If you play a video embedded from YouTube or TikTok, that provider may set its own cookies on your device. These are outside our control and governed by the provider's own privacy policy.
Essential cookies
The site's admin area (the business owner's login only) uses one essential session cookie. Ordinary visitors to the site never receive it.
No advertising or tracking cookies
This site does not use advertising cookies, remarketing, social network pixels, or external analytics tools such as Google Analytics. We do not build a profile of you and do not track you across other sites.
Your control
You can clear local storage and cookies from your browser settings at any time. Blocking them will not prevent you from using the site or contacting us.
